We recently purchased a multiple developer license and have been using QuickPDF to make a basic PDF viewer as part of our application. Currently, our viewer uses RenderPageToDC (in c++) and can change pages, scroll and zoom. However, there is the drive to add extra features such as fully-functional hyperlinking etc. Is there an established approach or any sample code as to how to implement GUI interaction for hyperlinking to work (so a user can click on a link and jump to a different section of the document etc)? The upcoming ActiveX viewer control sounds like it might speed up development for us: When is it due for release? Thanks in advance of any replies Edited by Centrino - 01 Aug 11 at 4:21PM |

Hi Centrino,
The PDF Viewer ActiveX control is due for release before the end of this year. The features in the first couple of releases will be relatively basic and will focus on basic viewing, navigation, bookmarks, links and so on. Overtime support for more advance features will be added. Quick PDF Viewer ActiveX will be a separate product to Quick PDF Library and so it won't be free for existing customers of our library. Cheers, - Rowan.

Hello Rowan
Happy to see that QuickPDF team prepares an PDF Viewer ActiveX Control. But could you tell us more about its features, in particular could it read and display quickly monochrome JBIG2 encodes PDF? Nearly all viewers can now read JBig2 encoded images, but only a few display such images quickly. My problem is that I have to display hundred files very, very quickly (sometimes, more that 4 pages per second sic!) and most of PDF readers waste time and memory to transform a 1Mbytes (2500x3500 pixel - 1 bit per pixel) image into a 24 or 32 bits per pixel bitmap (more than 24 Mbytes), very slowly rendered onto the screen. This is a nonsense and a very poorly designed concept! Could you give us some indications about the means you plan to use to display such PDF files? Many thanks for your reply. Gérard |

I am just looking into a PDF viewer. Are there any update on when you plan to release it?
