I would like to know if there are any tools that helps in extracting the text and images from specific areas within a pdf. Also can this be done by saving on the server instead of local machine?

Hi!

First: You can save it anywhere if you have the access rights on the locations.
Second: With QuickPDF you can optionally extract the text from each page with posiiton data - so you can determine if the text you're looking for is in a special rectangle (or position) on the page.
