Hi,

I've made tests with the binary files included the QPDFv6044 folder.

Now, I have rendering problem with 50% of my PDF files. The dll simply crash...

I don't know what is wrong with this release but if somebody can send to me only the modified parts of the code since the 6.03 edition I will be able to find the problem quickly.

- I think we need to make a complete  code changes history for each release.

- I think too that only one person (Ingo ?) should control the source code in order to validate (after battery of tests) each modification brought by the community. If Ingo have not any time to do that I am OK to help him or to take control of the source code.

Best regards,

Loïc

Hi Michel,

i'm not a owner of the sourcecode licence. When will be all the good improvements available in the "Library" licence?

Best regards

Klaus

Hi Icarrere

I've try a lot of pdf files without any crashs and good rendering results.
If you have the source code, all my improvments are marked with my name (Delbeke). I have also explain my improvments in the forum 'Change Request'

Can you send me a couple of pdf the make the dll crash, please.
My email adress is jean-luc(at)delbeke(point)fr
I'll do my best to find the reason of the crash. I can send you a list of all changes if you want. Just let me your email adress.

Hi KHentshel
I have make a lot of work on the library and as you can see, there is problems, so it's not a good idea to make theses changes avaibles for every without tests.

Hi Klaus,

Honestly, not for a while yet. We are receiving many changes, and we are waiting a while longer for things to stabilize. Once we have a final set of changes, we'll make it available in compiled form for testing.

Because this is a purely voluntary part-time  effort, things are therefore progressing more slowly than if this was a commercial project.

   Sorry... Hopefully soon.

Michel

Hi to everybody,

it looks as if Loic and Jean Luc have still ideas for improvements ;-)
If they are saying "that's it for now" we should test and test and ... and then we'll offer new compiled library-versions here. The current phase is a hot one and i don't think that a compiled version make sense now.

Please be patient for a while.

Cheers and best regards,
Ingo

Ho yes, i have tons of ideas for improvements.

Incremental save, an exposed Device context to accept gdi fuctions to create a pdf and so on.

I am working now on a better signing function for cosigning.
But i think the best for the momment is to stabilize what's have be done.

Hi Jean-Luc,

i agree with you. If we'll never stop we'll never get a stable version ;-)
So i suggest that your cosigning implementation should be the last step before testing again and creating stable, compiled versions.

Cheers,
Ingo

JL, I just sent an email to you. Let me know if you need assistance.

I am agree with the fact that we need to make many tests before releasing the new version :)

Best regards,

Hi everybody
Loic, i am not at home to day, i'll see that tomorrow.
Ingo, i think implementing the Cosign function will wait a little because, after some test, it's evident that the save incremental functions is to be done before. So i'll do'nt go further more on the signing functions and stop at the 6.4.0.4 release. (at the momment Wink )

I agree too. Co-signing is important to make the signing feature worthwhile. As usual, I'll be happy to help with testing and/or documentation.

Oops. - did not see your last post Delbeke. Nonetheless, might still be worth the wait.

Finaly, my mind has just needed to think about something else to find the solution. The incremental save is done, the signing function is now complete and can sign pdf already signed. (Co-signing).
I've send to michel the complete source code.
Of course it needs to be tested  much more, but at the momment, i ca'nt find a bug. All seem to work correctly.
