How do you debug the lib-version with only /Mt

   I am evaluating the lib-version (downloaded from here http://labs.debenu.com/2015/06/17/debenu-quick-pdf-library-11-15-c-lib-dll-and-activex-edition/). In the readme.txt it is stated "Your project should be compiled using the /MT mode.". This is all fine for release-builds. I have tried to tell my compiler settings to use /Mt instead of the /MtD but then I still get messages like:
LIBCMT.lib(invarg.obj) : error LNK2005: __initp_misc_invarg already defined in libcmtd.lib(invarg.obj)

These all go away if I build a release-build. 

How to other lib-users debug their code?

BTW; I am using VS2010
