Linearization is a somewhat complex feature to implement and it will take many development hours, so we won't be including it in a minor release of version 7, but we might include it in version 8.

FYI: if you also use the Ghostscript library, you can use the linearization function that comes with that. At least it will keep you going for now. Same goes for PDF/A for example.
